벚꽃이 핀 뒤 항상 비가 내리고 추워지는 법칙…한국 전역 강풍에 날씨 비상

 

4월 중순, 봄의 절정이지만 전국 곳곳에 며칠째 비가 내리고 있다. 강풍까지 더해지며 활짝 피었던 벚꽃이 빠르게 자취를 감추고 있다.

기상청에 따르면, 이번주 중부지방을 중심으로 비가 내렸고, 여수 지역에는 초속 21.8m의 강풍이 관측됐다. 서울의 경우 나무가지가 바람에 심하게 휘몰아치는 모습이 보이며 일부 지역에서는 돌풍과 우박까지 동반한 날씨가 이어지고 있다.

기온도 크게 떨어졌다. 4월답지 않게 바람이 차갑게 느껴지며, 환절기인 지금 사람들이 따뜻하게 입고 건강을 챙기고 있다.

휴일이었던 일요일에도 비는 그치지 않았고, 전국 곳곳에 우산을 쓴 사람들로 북적였다.

그런데 이맘때쯤이면 매년 반복되는 풍경이 있다.
벚꽃이 만개한 벚꽃 개화 시기와 봄비가 내리는 시점이 겹친다는 것.

서울, 대구, 광주 등 주요 도시의 벚꽃은 3월 말에서 4월 초에 절정을 찍었으며, 이후 이어진 비로 대부분 꽃잎이 떨어진 상황이다.

필자는 어릴 때 벚꽃이 피면 그저 좋아했지만 어른이 된 지금은 활짝 핀 벚꽃을 보면 곧 비가 오고 추워지면 벚꽃이 다 떨어질테니 빠르게 벚꽃구경을 해야겠다고 생각한다. 매년 틀리지 않는 참 신기한 법칙이다.

매년 이 시기만 되면 "벚꽃 피면 꼭 비가 온다"는 말처럼, 봄비와 벚꽃은 한국 봄날의 대표적인 풍경이 되었다. 다가오는 5월의 꽃을 맞이하고 내년에 더 예쁜 벚꽃 사진을 남겨봐야겠다.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain has been falling across the central regions this week, and Yeosu recorded wind speeds of 21.8 m/s. In Seoul, tree branches were seen swaying violently in the wind, and some areas experienced gusts and hail.

Temperatures have dropped significantly. The chilly wind makes it feel unlike April, and people are dressing warmly and taking care of their health during this seasonal change.

Even on Sunday, a holiday, the rain did not stop, and umbrellas were seen everywhere across the country.

At this time every year, there is a familiar sight: the blooming of cherry blossoms coincides with the arrival of spring rain.

Cherry blossoms in major cities such as Seoul, Daegu, and Gwangju reached their peak from late March to early April, and after the rain, most of the petals have fallen.

As a child, I simply enjoyed the blooming cherry blossoms, but as an adult, I now know that once the blossoms bloom, rain and cold weather will soon follow, and the blossoms will quickly fall. It’s a curious, unchanging law every year.

Every spring, the saying "when cherry blossoms bloom, rain always comes" is heard, and the combination of spring rain and cherry blossoms has become a quintessential part of Korea’s spring scene. I look forward to the flowers of May and hope to capture even more beautiful cherry blossom photos next year.
